The social and community value of the sumapaceña rural school in a post-conflict scenario

San Juan de Sumapaz is one of the townships of town 20 of Bogotá and has been the site of different struggles and conflicts throughout its history, the most recent being the internal armed conflict between guerrillas, paramilitaries and the Armed Forces of the last 50 years. In colombia. In 2016, the Final Agreement for the Termination of the Conflict and the Construction of a Stable and Lasting Peace between the FARC-EP guerrilla and the national government in the country began to be implemented, whose implementation is characterized in San Juan by the active participation of its inhabitants, who have had a long and important tradition of community organization, in which the rural school has been an important reference. Therefore, this exploratory work aimed to investigate the social and community value that the rural school has in this district, to find potential in the construction of a scenario of peace and reconstruction of social and community life. This analysis allowed us to recognize the historical importance of the rural school for the peasant community of San Juan, as well as its efforts during the post-conflict scenario and its potential for building peace in this territory.
