Stress level and coping strategies in parents with children with intellectual disabilities

Abstract

This research has a correlational design since the objective of this article is to determine the relationship between the level of stress and coping strategies in parents with children with intellectual disabilities in the district of Callao. Likewise, 47 subjects participated to measure the variables, two instruments were used: Coping Strategy (the COPE inventory) and Stress Level (Perceived Stress Scale - PSS 14). The results showed that there is a positive correlation between stress level and coping strategies.
