Abstract

Within the scope of philosophical inquiries into truth, here we take in to consider that ones that conceptualize it as a central element in the conformation of our subjectivities. From these viewpoints, conducting a critical analysis of the dynamics of truth production in our present time –including its logics, formulations, and effects– largely entails directing reflection towards ourselves. This reflection sets aside the connections between truth and “the real” to focus on the linkages between truth and power; hence, its character is inherently political. Based on these considerations, the present article retrieves certain elements from the thought of Michel Foucault with the aim of characterizing the assumptions and implications involved in the deployment of a “politics of truth”.
