Abstract

The most recent definition of phenomenology focuses on the awareness of lived experience as a philosophical vocation not exclusively limited to the realms of scientific rationality. This definition offers contents that are in harmony with materialist postulates of becoming and with the concept of the good living, which is an important theme in the current constitutional proposals of Ecuador and Bolivia. This approach contrasts with a pseudo-Andean wisdom that rejects everything Western because it homogeneously regards it as colonization. This view neglects above all the epistemic depth of indigenous peoples and reproduces the logics of exclusive truth and ideological endogamy, which are more in line with the positivism or capitalist cognitivism of neoliberal globalization. It is therefore necessary to clarify that the epistemes most developed by indigenous movements are based on the recognition of the need to build intercultural dialogues, or counter-hegemonic dialogues, through the inclusion of a diversity of peoples in relation with their fight against the capitalism. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to provide a basic overview of phenomenology that could be used to strengthen initiatives towards processes of epistemic encounter. The method used is centered on hermeneutics and is projected from what in the rhizome is conceived as a book.
