General Justification of the Dossier
In a global scenario characterized by profound social inequalities, accelerated technological transformations, environmental crises, and political reconfigurations, comparative and international education has consolidated itself as a strategic field for understanding how educational systems respond—convergently or divergently—to shared challenges. This approach enables the analysis of policies, pedagogical practices, curricular models, and institutional dynamics from a critical, contextualized, and situated perspective, particularly relevant for Latin America.
The dossier proposes to generate a space for academic dialogue that articulates local, regional, and international perspectives, problematizing the transfer of educational models, the influence of international organizations, tensions between global agendas and national realities, as well as educational experiences emerging from historically subordinated contexts.
Suggested Topics for the Dossier
- Policies and curriculum in comparative and international perspective
- Education, inequality, and social justice in international contexts
- Teacher training and professionalization in international perspective
