Journal Policy

The Latin American Journal of Social Sciences is a quarterly open access publication, edited by Grupo J. J. San Marcos (Peru), whose objective is the dissemination of research in the fields of Social Sciences, Administration, Psychology, Pedagogy, Philosophy, Ethics, Arts, Sociology, Economics, Accounting Sciences, Business Education, Tourism and Education; topics that critically address the problems of contemporary society in order to contribute to its transformation. The journal welcomes unpublished and original works of a scientific nature, especially research articles, essays, bibliographical reviews and review articles. The journal uses the double-blind peer review system and is guided by the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Objectives and scope

The Latin American Journal of Social Sciences aims to publish scientific articles (qualitative and/or quantitative research, as well as conceptual reflections), letters to the editor, essays, book reviews and eventually interviews that, from the field of Social Sciences in general, discuss relevant problems of Latin America and the whole world.

RELACIS is a scientific, academic journal, edited by Grupo J. J. San Marcos (Peru), the scope of the journal is to disseminate critical, analytical, reflective thinking with ethics, professionalism and social responsibility. Contributing to the socioeconomic progress at local, regional and international level. Covering areas of Social Sciences, Administration, Psychology, Pedagogy, Philosophy, Ethics, Arts, Sociology, Economics, Accounting Sciences, Business Education, Tourims and Education.

2. Languages ​​of publication

The journal publishes scientific articles (qualitative and/or quantitative research, as well as conceptual reflections), essays, letters to the editor, bibliographical reviews and eventually interviews in four languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese and French. In case it is published in a language other than English, all published scientific articles will have a title and abstract in this language.

3. Periodicity

The journal is published every quarterly, using the "continuous publication" format for the dissemination of articles. It publishes four issues per year, which does not exclude the existence of special issues. The issues are generally published in January-March; April-June; July-September; October-December of each year.

4. Peer review process

In the case of scientific articles and essays, the journal uses a double-blind peer review process, that is, neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other's identity. The reviewers are chosen based on their academic record that demonstrates an expertise in the subject to be evaluated. Evaluation periods generally last three to five months.

8. Listing Fees and Article Processing Charges (APC)

Currently, the journal does not charge any fees or charges for article processing.

The Latin American Journal of Social Sciences is "golden open access", this means that it does not charge for access to any document published in the journal.

10. Archiving

The magazine uses the LOCKSS system to create a storage system for conservation and restoration purposes.
